Happy tax deadline weekend thing, people of America. This past Saturday we took a trip up to Mother Neff State Park, a popular but teeny-tiny state park about an hour north of Austin and thirty minutes west of Waco, for some hiking. We saw a lot of things in a relatively short amount of hiking: A neat cave, a rock tower, a small pond, and so on. We played on the playground and walked the prairie trail — a gorgeous open field of Texas wildflowers that make visiting Mother Neff State Park in the spring an absolute must.
Don’t mind the back-and-forth on our hiking map: Mother Neff State Park is an easy trail system to walk but somewhat difficult to navigate as it is virtually unmarked except for the trailheads, making cutting from one trail to another a little confusing.
